The Department of Development was established in 1992 to raise additional funds and market the school. Currently this department functions as a program of the Dutch Reformed Church: Social Services (Western- and Southern Cape). Thus it represents the ongoing involvement of the Dutch Reformed Church with the learners of the Alta du Toit School. The staff consists of two people: the Director of Development (Mrs. Marlene Brewis) and an administrative clerk (Mrs. Hermène van Niekerk). They work under supervision of the Alta du Toit School Commission in which the school is represented by the principal. The Director of Development represents the Dutch Reformed Church in the school's governing body.
The Department of Development is a registered non-profit organisation (reg. no. 011-891). The director adresses groups on invitation to introduce them to the learners of the Alta du Toit School. Visiting groups are taken on tour through the school - an experience never to forget. (Contact us to arrange for a visit or to invite Mrs Brewis to address you.)

The staff of the Department of Development aims to do their task in the love of Jesus to the benefit of His special children in the Alta du Toit School.
